Leslie Roberts
… bought himself out of the RAF after five years. Subsequent jobs included emptying dustbins on a Fréjus campsite (one of his most enjoyable), cleaning a male ward for the mentally ill (the most memorable), and labouring on a Parisian building site.
He went on to study at the Sorbonne, and returned to Britain to complete his first degree in French Studies.
Leslie has lived and taught in UK, France, Indonesia, Senegal & Brunei. There’s probably no truth in the rumour he was once head-hunted by an Intelligence operative posing as a British Council Education Officer.
Leslie now lives in the SW of England with his amazing wife.
